This Walk the Talk will connect us with the land and the awa as we explore the middle section of the City to Sea Pathway, an area rich in history, recreation, and regeneration.
Starting at Dallington Landing, we’ll wander across Snells Bridge to Avon Park and Kerrs Reach, taking in the many spaces that bring the community together. Along the way, we’ll see picnic areas, playgrounds, and the river corridor that is heavily used for rowing, canoeing, waka ama, and dragon boating.
This area was once home to many families and communities and today stands as a testament to resilience and renewal following the earthquakes. Guest speakers will share stories of what was here before, the vision behind the area’s redesign, and the ongoing regeneration efforts shaping this part of Christchurch East.
Join us as we explore this special stretch of the Avon Ōtākaro River Corridor and hear the stories of recovery, connection, and community that continue to shape it today. As always, stay on afterwards for a free sausage sizzle and a cuppa.
