About this Event

Begin with a captivating storytime reading of “Spring Forage!”, read by the author, Kypriana “Lala” Daniels in the big red barn. Then, step into the wild for an immersive food forage walk led by the dynamic mother-daughter duo, Lala and Shivani.
About the Book
“Spring Forage!” is the first book in the Earth Folk Tales series, an enchanting tale following Tara of the Dandelion Folk and Mel the Honey Bee on their springtime wild foraging adventure through the Appalachian Foothills. This earthy children’s story combines wildcrafting, environmental education, and the magic of fairy tales, capturing the hearts and engaging the minds of both young and old.
Written for families reconnecting with nature’s wisdom, the Earth Folk Tales series celebrates Earth-based knowledge and inspires readers to find wonder in the world around them.
Meet Your Teachers
Kypriana “Lala” Daniels has been a foraging student for over 10 years and her daughter, Shivani has been foraging since birth. Kypriana was inspired to become an author when her family moved to the Appalachian Foothills of Frederick, MD. As they learned how to forage and wildcraft together, they made up stories to teach, inspire and remember all the wisdom and interconnectedness of the local ecology! Now the family is happy to share these educational stories with the world!
