About this Event
Discover the art of twined basketry in this hands-on class, where you’ll learn to create beautiful and functional baskets using natural materials. Guided by an experienced weaver, Luke Bauer, you’ll explore traditional twining techniques, selecting and preparing materials, and weaving patterns that balance form and function.
This workshop is an invigorating challenge for those looking to deepen their skills in an ancient craft that connects us to nature and cultural traditions.
By the end of the session, each person should leave with a basket either complete or far enough in the process to confidently finish at home.
Tools: please bring a sharp knife or hand pruners if you have them, some tools will be available to use onsite. All other materials provided.

Beginning in 2022, Fox Haven will pay $2 from every ticket sale to Through Piscataway Eyes as a LandBack tax for the land Fox Haven inhabits. Land taxes to indigenous nations function similarly to paying rent or a home mortgage. Payments such as a mortgage provide access to living space, whereas LandBack taxes recognize our access to stolen Indigenous land.
