Understanding Your Grief is a 10-week series aimed at helping participants following the death of a loved one. The sessions explore the second edition of Dr. Alan Wolfelt’s Understanding Your Grief: Ten Essential Touchstones for Finding Hope and Healing Your Heart through: Opening to the Presence of Your Loss; Dispelling the Misconceptions about Grief; Embracing the Uniqueness of Your Grief; Exploring Your Feelings of Loss; Recognizing You Are Not Crazy; Understanding the Six Needs of Mourning; Nurturing Yourself; Reaching Out for Help; Seeking Reconciliation, Not Resolution; and Appreciating Your Transformation. Classes will take place Thursdays starting at 5:00 pm and ending by 7:00 pm. The first class begins on Thursday, January 22, 2026, and the last class is scheduled for Thursday, March 26, 2026. For the best experience, each participant is expected to complete the weekly readings and the weekly journaling assignments. Copies of the Understanding Your Grief (second edition) and the accompanying journal are for sale online for approximately $25 per participant from your preferred book dealer. Please note that we are using the second edition copyright 2021.
