Multi instrumentalist, standout singer and songwriter, Steve Ray Ladson was born in South Carolina, raised singing in church and forged in authentic, lived experience.
He is the architect of Blackgrass Brothercana, an innovative collision of Americana, country, blues, rock and soul – rooted in tradition, but refreshingly contemporary. Anchored by gritty, commanding vocals and banjo-driven fire, his music feels less like performance and more like testimony.
He exploded onto the world stage when he appeared on America's Got Talent last year - and rewrote the rules. In a competition dominated by covers, Steve became one of the only artists to advance through every round performing original music. His breakout anthem Back of My Truck surged to #1 in country music, turning a television moment into a chart-topping statement.
He has also played a key role in the success of 6-time Grammy Award winners and Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award winners, The Blind Boys of Alabama, as well as playing with 4-time Grammy nominee Robert Randolph and the Family Band.
He has now launched a full international tour across Europe, Asia, and UAE, with 2026 summer appearances including Montreux Jazz Festival and London’s Ronnie Scott’s.
