WHY THE MEADOWS
Honest answer: cost and commitment. We're starting at a free public park because we're a new club. Once the squad settles, we'll move to a proper venue in west Edinburgh.
WHAT WE'RE BUILDING
Edinburgh West AFC is targeting the CSS SOFFA League for the 2026/27 season — a friendly Sunday league for grown men who love the game but don't take themselves too seriously. First competitive fixture is at Starks Park against Raith Rovers on Sunday 16 August.
WHAT ABOUT THE TIME COMMITMENT?
Honest answer: come and see.
Fixtures will be planned around real availability — we'll know who's around and who isn't.
This club is built for grown men with grown-up lives. We're not pretending otherwise.
WHAT TO BRING
Boots if you have them. Trainers if you don't. Water. A layer in case it cools down.
WHAT YOU WON'T GET
Hill sprints. Beep tests. Judgement. A coach shouting at you for misplacing a pass.
WHAT YOU MIGHT GET
A new found enjoyment for the game.
