This year, in commemoration of America 250 and the 230th anniversary of Tennessee Statehood, Marble Springs is taking our celebration to the next level! Statehood Day will now consist of two FREE fun filled days on May 29th and May 30th.
Friday, May 29th from 12pm - 5pm, will be Tennessee Field Day, a child focused program to get up close with history, art, and culture. The event is appropriate for all ages however, so bring your inner child for hands-on activities with our partners including Ijams Nature Center, Museum of Cherokee People, Birthplace of Country Music Museum, National Parks Service, Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, A Walk in their Boots, Smoky Mountain Quilters Guild, East Tennessee Historical Society, and the American Museum of Science and Energy. Visitors will receive a punch card and win a special sweet treat prize for visiting all our amazing partners and participating in their activities! Not only will you score some goodies, but completed punch cards will also be entered to win FOUR baseball tickets to the Knoxville Smokies! Winners will be drawn on May 30th!
Saturday, May 30th from 10am - 4pm, we will continue with our normal Statehood Day activities! We will have a fun-filled day to enjoy and explore a taste of Tennessee with live demonstrations, guest lectures, music, dancing, food, and more! Be sure not to miss out on as we invite our friends at The Beck Cultural Exchange Center, Knox Makers, Smoky Mountain Quilting Guild, East Tennessee Historical Society, Tipton Haynes State Historic Site, Music by Modal Mountain, Women's National Basketball Hall of Fame, Overmountain Man Victory Trail Association, American Museum of Science and Energy, The Knoxville Chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society, and line dancing with Sherry Barrett.
Both of these events are FREE to the public.
