MuuMuu Contest: Where Your Inner Pageant Queen Finally Gets Her Crown (and Maybe a Cocktail) Did life forget to mail you your tiara? No worries. It’s time for Knoxville’s first-ever MuuMuu Contest at MuMu Fest, and this time, the crown is totally within reach.
Slip into your fiercest, funkiest, most fabulous MuuMuu and get ready to strut like the grocery store is your runway and the produce section is your adoring public. Channel your best Mrs. Roper vibes: big patterns, bigger personality, and enough confidence to power the whole festival.
No experience necessary, and there’s no talent portion (unless you count walking in a MuuMuu as a talent… which we do.)

Artful MuuMuu: Think wearable masterpiece. If Monet and a hibiscus had a baby, you’re in the right zone.
🦚 Vintage Mrs. Roper Adjacent: Channel your inner sitcom queen. bold prints, big attitude, and maybe a cocktail in hand.
🧵 Creative Twist: Franken-muumuu, glam-muu, cosplay-muu… if it makes people say “Wait, WHAT?!” this is your lane.
OR Surprise us with something unexpected, quirky, or wildly imaginative.
👏 Crowd Favorite: The people’s choice. If you can work the room and werk the fabric, this one’s yours.

About KnoxWalls Murals & Music Festival:
Get ready for a day bursting with color, creativity, and community as Dogwood Arts transforms Emory Place into an open-air art and music experience. Ten talented muralists will go head-to-head in a live painting competition, creating murals in real time while festival-goers watch the art unfold, enjoy performances by local & regional musicians, and explore the vibrant personalities of the businesses in and around Emory Place.
Throughout the day, attendees will vote to select the 1st & 2nd place winners, who will each receive permanent mural commissions at sites around Knoxville. The temporary 8’x8’ murals will then be auctioned online, with proceeds shared between the artists and Dogwood Arts’ Mural Program, fueling even more public art projects across the city.

If you love KnoxWalls at Emory Place, you’re going to love this next chapter. That project — created in partnership with Visit Knoxville and Lilienthal Gallery — transformed more than 7,000 square feet of walls and was the largest mural project in city history. We can’t wait to bring even more color and creativity to this growing arts district!
