About this Event
Start Your Costume! Workshop
Don't delay, get started on your Halloween costume early with this ultimate DIYing workshop! With the guidance of a professional costume designer, you will develop a design and get started on the creation of your costume. Although you may not leave with a finished costume, you will leave prepared to continue your crafting into a finished project that is ready for any spooky occasion. In this workshop, you will learn beginner-friendly costuming, sewing, and DIY skills that will take your costume to the next level.
Participants are encouraged to bring any materials that may be useful in the creation of their costume. Other supplies and materials will be provided.
Meet the Instructor:
Hi! My name is Mae! I’m a Philly based costume designer and technician, working semi-freelance at places like Arden Theatre Company, Friends Select School, Drexel University, and more. I’m a multimedia artist, costuming largely theater, but also film, photography, drag, dance, and anything else that sounds artistically interesting! In addition to costuming, I also love visual art, sculpture, puppets, storytelling, teaching, and design in all its forms. I’m super excited to get involved in the Utility Works community, and I’ll see you all in October!
