We've got a huge double bill this St. Piran's Day with the legendary The Countrymen PLUS Banjovial (members of the band The Stowes) // The will be local Cornish delights cooked up by the wonderful Cornish Maid - you've never had so much fun in the middle of the week!

MUSIC:
It’s difficult to find a musical genre that would fully describe The Countrymen, but Folk Rock Harmony comes close. A five-piece band featuring tight four-part vocal harmony and strong instrumentation. Primarily performing original songs and their own arrangements of lesser-known contemporary folk, the band’s lyrical inspiration is drawn from life in Cornwall, the demise of local industries and other rural issues that resonate throughout the country. The Countrymen are accomplished performers, engaging the audience with light-hearted banter and back-stories to their songs. The Countrymen perform up to 50 live gigs per year including spring and autumn concert tours, festivals and other folk events. These include Little Orchard Festival, Rock OysterFestival, Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival, Falmouth Oyster Festival and Falmouth Week. “These guys are really entertaining. As the music developed, Celtic passion and a love of old time found its natural place, and out of the melting pot came an identity that blends the region's rich maritime heritage with infectious rhythms and melodies, creating a sound that is both nostalgic and exhilarating. Having played extensively together as part of the popular Celtic folk band The Stowes, the trio seamlessly intertwine with each other’s unique playing style to create an energetic, yet effortless musical experience, masterfully weaving the rich traditions of nautical songs and shanties with the vibrant sounds of Celtic and bluegrass music.
