SRD 2026: Connector Project Launch

The afternoon will feature a keynote address from Professor Verene Shepherd, a leading international authority on the histories and legacies of transatlantic slavery, will deliver the keynote address, reflecting the 2026 UNESCO theme, “Ending Slavery’s Legacy of Racism: A Global Imperative for Justice”.
Delivered in partnership with the University of Cambridge's Legacies of Enslavement Initiative, this event explores the role of North West-based merchant underwriters, whose insurance of enslaving voyages helped sustain the transatlantic trade in enslaved people.
