🎉 𝗦𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗙𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 — 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟴𝘁𝗵!
We're bringing together the Squamish and wider dance community for a full day of learning, connection, and celebration.
Whether you're brand new to partner dancing or a seasoned mover, this is your day. Come as you are.
The day will feature workshops from local and guest instructors, with a proper lunch break to rest and recharge. After a dinner break, we'll reconvene for a lively social dance that runs into the evening — featuring a mixer workshop to open the floor, live DJs, and a challenge set to close out the day.
We're thrilled to welcome Samuel Samway, joining us from Brazil to lead two of the workshops during the day and to lead our opening mixer workshop in the evening. Samuel brings expertise in Contact Improv, Brazilian Partnered Dancing, and a teaching style that's welcoming to all levels.

Fusion is improvised partner dancing, where the only rules or constraints are respect and safety for yourself and those around you. Think: curiosity, playfulness and connection, rather than executing a rigid set of moves or steps.

Fusion dancing is for every body. Come alone, come with friends, dip a toe in or plunge in the deep end. However you want to dance, we are here for it - whether you are completely new to partner dancing or have a background in any dance style!
Fusion dancing at its core is about inclusivity and openness. We cannot assume someone wants to follow or lead based on their apparent gender - just ask them! We're also all about being great at respecting people's boundaries and bodies, paying attention and using your words if you're unsure. Trust us, asking is way less awkward than getting it wrong!
Creating safer spaces takes a whole community! If we feel someone is not upholding our core values of respect and compassion for all, a host may ask them to leave. We welcome all ages, genders, races, backgrounds, sexualities, perspectives, and abilities.
