Spring Inoculation Workshop with Soulshine Earth

Rural Action is partnering with Anna and Andy of Soulshine Earth to host a mushroom log inoculation workshop!

Join us at Soulshine Earth’s forest farm in Southeastern Ohio to explore the exciting world of mushroom cultivation. We’ll be inoculating mushroom logs using sustainably harvested hardwood, simple tools, and the expertise of our local forest farmers. After the workshop, you’ll bring your log home and with shade, moisture, and patience, experience the magic of fruiting your own Shiitake mushrooms.

Anna and Andy of Soulshine Earth manage over 800+ logs of medicinal and edible mushrooms, such as Lion's Mane, Reishi, Turkey Tail, Shiitake, and Oyster. They also produce a line of value-added products including mushroom tinctures and capsules.

Come learn about forest farming and creating value-added products with us, and bring back hands-on experience to your farm or garden!

Weather: This event will take place rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for the conditions, if rain is expected, we recommend bringing a raincoat and wearing waterproof boots. Tents and covered areas will be available in case of inclement weather.

Parking: Parking is very limited, so we kindly ask that you carpool if possible. Look for Rural Action signage marked “Event Today” along the road and at the entrance to the property. A staff member will be on-site to help direct parking.
