Spoken Word Poetry Workshop led by Priscille Bukasa
About this Event
Part of Safehouse Society's Seedy & Safe Creative Hubs Initiative transforming an alley into a shared creative space, one workshop at a time.
This workshop is an invitation to slow down, listen closely, and discover your voice through spoken word poetry.
Together we'll explore the craft of spoken word not just how to write a poem, but how to share it with an audience. Through writing exercises, conversation, performance, and play, you'll uncover stories hidden in ordinary moments and transform them into work that's honest, personal, and uniquely your own. We'll dig into what makes spoken word different from poetry on the page: how rhythm, silence, repetition, and the body itself become part of the poem.
What to bring: A notebook and pen if you have them - we'll provide materials for anyone who doesn't.
Who it's for: Anyone who wants to write and perform , no prior poetry or performance experience needed.
RSVP to save your spot, space is limited.
