What happens when you listen to the quiet voice that tells you there may be something more waiting for you?

For our first book club selection, we’re journeying into Paulo Coelho’s beloved novel The Alchemist—a deceptively simple story filled with questions about purpose, courage, intuition, synchronicity, fear, transformation, and the mysterious ways life invites us forward.

Over the past month, our readers have been following Santiago across the desert as he searches for his treasure and discovers what it means to pursue his Personal Legend. Now, we’ll gather to share what we noticed along the way.

Together, we’ll explore questions like:

• What does it mean to recognize and pursue your own Personal Legend?
• How do we distinguish intuition from fear?
• What might it mean to “listen to your heart”?
• Are the synchronicities and “omens” we encounter meaningful—or do we give them meaning?
• What can the journey teach us that reaching the destination cannot?
• And perhaps most importantly: What did this story make you notice about your own life?

This won’t be a literary analysis class, and there are no “right” interpretations to bring to the table. Our book club is a space for curiosity, thoughtful conversation, connection, and the exchange of ideas. Come ready to hear different perspectives, share your own if you wish, and see where the conversation takes us.
