About this Event

This month, we’ll be discussing Never Split the Difference by Christopher Voss and Tahl Raz.

Drawing from his experience as a lead FBI hostage negotiator, Voss offers a powerful framework for navigating difficult conversations, high-stakes conflict, and everyday communication with greater confidence and emotional intelligence. Rather than relying on pressure, domination, or simple compromise, Never Split the Difference teaches readers how to use tactical empathy, active listening, and strategic questioning to create better outcomes in business, relationships, leadership, and life.

Through real-world hostage negotiation stories and practical communication tools, the book explores concepts like mirroring, labeling emotions, calibrated questions, and identifying hidden motivations — what Voss calls “Black Swans.” At its core, this book is about learning how to stay calm under pressure, understand human behavior more deeply, and communicate in a way that builds trust while still advocating for yourself.

We’ll gather at Austin Beerworks on Thursday, September 3rd from 5:30–7:30 PM for great conversation and connection.

This is more than a book club — it’s a supportive community of men committed to exploring leadership, mental health, relationships, and work-life balance. Together, we cultivate STRONG relationships with our peers, our families, set positive examples for our children, and prioritize our well-being.

See you there!
