A Speakeasy of Secrets, Song & Seduction: Where the night whispers back.

Step into an after-hours ritual designed for those who appreciate atmosphere, artistry, and intention.

SPEAK, EASY is an intimate Chicago speakeasy experience~ part salon, part confessional, part slow burn. Voices emerge. Stories unfold. Music guides the room. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is accidental.

Opening night welcomes you into a curated evening of spoken word, live vocals, illusion, storytelling, and sound woven together to be felt as much as heard.

Mistress of Ceremony & Spoken Word

TJ Gardner — grounding the room and guiding the flow of the night

Vocalist

Tiyabe and Brandon McKenzie— delivering soul-stirring sound and emotional depth

Storytelling

Michael “Tekhen” Strode — inviting intimacy through word and presence

Illusionist

Erika Jarvis — bending perception and blurring the line between seen and felt

Steve Maxwell — holding the rhythm, pacing the night, shaping the atmosphere

OPENING NIGHT RITUAL

Guests attending opening night will receive a gold Speak, Easy Key — a symbolic keepsake marking the beginning of this series.

What is SPEAK, EASY?

SPEAK, EASY is an intimate, after-hours speakeasy experience blending live vocals, spoken word, storytelling, illusion, and curated sound. It’s designed to be felt as much as heard — slow, intentional, and immersive.


Where is the event located?

The event takes place at Bassline in Chicago. 2239 S. Michigan Ave.

What time should I arrive?

Doors open at 6:00 PM.

The show begins promptly at 7:00 PM.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early, settle in, and enjoy the atmosphere before the show begins.

Is there a late arrival policy?

Yes. To preserve the flow and intimacy of the experience, late arrivals may be held briefly until an appropriate moment to enter the room. We appreciate your understanding.

Is there an age requirement?

Yes. This event is 21 and over only. Valid ID is required.

What is the dress code?

There is no formal dress code, but guests are encouraged to dress in a way that honors the spirit of the evening — polished, expressive, and intentional.

Will food or drinks be available?

Yes. Signature drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.

Light offerings may be available depending on the evening’s flow.

All sales are final. Tickets are transferable but non-refundable.
