Soul Warming Thai Soups: A Hands-On Aromatic Workshop
About this Event
Step in the vibrant and restorative variety of Thai Aromatics with Chef Michael, the chef behind Gai & I Thai BBQ. In this 60 minute workshop, you will learn about the core aromatics of Thai cooking and learn to find the iconic flavor balance of spicy, sour, salty, and sweet flavors to prepare these comforting soups. We will prepare vegan versions of Tom Yum and Tom Kha Soups, and you will take home a portion of each to enjoy.
The class will start with a deep dive of Thai Aromatics and flavors and how to extract maximum flavor in building a master stock for two soups. We will then build the flavors further with a paste called Nam Prik Pao. Finishing by turning these bases into two final soups which balance classic Thai Cooking mixed with Local Boulder ingredients.
You will leave with the knowledge and confidence to recreate these dishes at home, along with take-home portions of both soups to enjoy after the class.
