Join us Thursday, April 23, from 5 – 7 pm at the Grants Pass branch for a special screening presented by Southern Oregon PBS. The event will feature "The Librarians," a documentary by Kim A. Snyder that explores how librarians across the United States are responding to growing restrictions on library materials and how these challenges are shaping communities and accessto information.
Following the screening, stay for a Q&A with Phil Meyer, CEO
of Southern Oregon PBS.
When Texas lawmakers seek to review a list of books, librarians find themselves on the frontlines of a national battle. Across the U.S., librarians face the impact of uniting against library collection standards that include restrictions on race-related and LGBTQIA+ content. Drawing on historical context, The Librarians explores the broader implications for education and public life.
Registration is not required and a library card is not needed to participate. Space is limited.
