Learn how to mend your denim and woven clothing with beautiful hand stitches in this information-packed, hands-on workshop led by fiber artist, author, and instructor, Erin Eggenburg!
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned stitcher, this 3-hour workshop is a fantastic way to explore hand stitching as both a functional and beautiful craft. Erin will teach you a sashiko-style visible mending technique that will give your clothes a new, unique life.
What You Will Learn and Receive:
Hands-on Practice: You will complete a practice patch using the sashiko-style embroidery technique.
Expert Knowledge: A presentation and explanation of mending materials and how to use them.
Specific Repairs: Learn "tips and tricks" for repairing specific types of clothing mends, including crotch/butt patching, threadbare areas, torn pockets, and worn knees.
Q&A Session: Bring a project you are working on (or would like to start) to get personalized advice from Erin!
Materials Provided: Denim patch for practice, sashiko needles, thread, beeswax, printed outline, and a needle threader.
About the Instructor:
Erin Eggenburg is a fiber artist, author, and instructor who resides in Portland, OR. She is the owner of wrenbirdarts, an embroidery and mending pattern shop, and author of The Mending Directory.
