A Note About Ticket Types:
There are three different Ticket Types. You will need to choose the appropriate one in order to register.
WA State Weatherization (WX) Agency, Tribal, or WA State Department of Commerce Staff: Those who are employees of a Commerce-recognized WA State Wx Agency, a staff member of one of WA State's Tribes (with approval by Commerce), or Commerce staff. The list of Commerce-recognized WA State Weatherization Agencies can be viewed here.
WA State Wx Agency-Associated Contractor: Contractors working under one of the WA State Wx Agencies (see above). At registration, you will be required to list the WA State Wx Agency(ies) you are associated with.
General Public/Non-Associated Contractor: Those who neither work for nor under (as a contractor) one of the WA State Wx Agencies (see above).

Multifamily Quality Control Inspector
Course Description:
The three-day Multifamily Quality Control Inspector course is an instructor-led classroom course with a final assessment test. This course is based on the Multifamily QC Inspector JTA found at the National Laboratory of the Rockies (formerly NREL).
“Multifamily: Grantee Training Plans must include requirements to ensure that QCIs working in multifamily buildings attend, and receive a successful evaluation from a training program delivering a curriculum based on the NREL Multifamily Quality Control Inspector JTA.”
All course attendees who pass the final 25-question multifamily test will receive a NYSWDA Certificate of Successful Completion, which complies with the DOE and State requirements for those performing final QC inspections on buildings with five or more attached dwellings.
Course Outline:
Day 1: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (includes breaks and lunch)
- Introductions and course sign in
- Introduction to multifamily QCI and multifamily housing types
- Overview of DOE and State Multifamily Policy and Requirements
- Engineering, Specifications, RFP, & Managing Sub-contractors
- Multifamily Blower Door Testing. (Whole building vs. guarded testing)
- Air Leakage, Air Sealing & Insulation Issues
- Ventilation and IAQ. (Roof top ventilators inspection/ASHRAE 62.2 compliance)
Day 2: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (includes breaks and lunch)
- Daily course sign in
- JTA Duties and Tasks (B)-Developing Quality Control Plan
- JTA Duties and Tasks (C)- Conducting Pre-Installation Site Visits
- Base Load
- Introduction to Multifamily Heating Systems
- Introduction to Hydronic Distribution
- Introduction to Domestic Hot Water Systems
- Health & Safety
- Operations & Maintenance (O&M)
Day 3: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (includes breaks and lunch)
- Possible in field inspection training- Optional- (approximately 2.5 hours + -)
- JTA Duties and Tasks (D)-Conducting Site Visits
- JTA Duties and Tasks (E), Reporting QCI Observations and Findings
- Course review
- Final written test (25 question/multiple choice)
- Final test scoring and class test review
- Awarding of course completion certificates
- Q&A/ course completion
