About this event

Healthy plants start with healthy soil.

Clemson Extension Horticulture's Samantha Brown and Dr. Lacy Barnette designed this workshop to help homeowners, landowners, and growers make informed decisions that improve plant health, reduce input costs, and protect the environment.

This program will cover why soil sampling is a critical first step in any lawn, garden, or landscape management plan, how to properly collect soil samples, and how to interpret soil test results. Participants will learn how pH, nutrients, and soil characteristics influence plant growth, along with practical strategies to build and maintain thriving soil for vegetables, turf, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
