About this Event
Human beings are social animals that seek to live in community with others. Although this fact has long been taken into account in the fields of social epistemology and social ontology, philosophy of mind in the analytic tradition has retained an individualist bias which has only recently come under systematic scrutiny. This conference will aim to contribute to the project of developing a social philosophy of mind in the field of the philosophy of emotion. In doing so, it will curate a dialogue between empirically minded philosophers and philosophically minded psychologists.
This is a two-day Conference on the 5th and 6th June 2025, hosted by the University of Oxford.
This event is funded by the Mind Association, Christ Church Research Centre, and the British Academy.
