So You Wanna Write a Book? is a preview session designed to inspire, unlock, and get you writing. Through a close look at a celebrated author's craft and a guided writing prompt, you'll begin to surface the themes and ideas only you can bring to the page. Come experience what it means to write in community, and leave with a real sense of what's possible when you give yourself permission to begin.
Shedia Smalls-Douglas is a Brooklyn-born author and communications leader with 15 years of experience in the art of storytelling.
While she has driven impactful marketing and communications strategies for Fortune 500 companies and high-growth startups, her specialty lies in the written word.
She is a graduate of NYU, and also studied visual art in her earlier years
