In May 2024, James Garnett became the first organ transplant patient to traverse Greenland under human power alone!
James Garnett is an adventurer, musician, charity fundraiser and extreme sports enthusiast. He received a kidney transplant at the age of 21, and since then has gone on many extreme adventures and expeditions in order to raise money for St George’s Hospital and the NHS. He also aims to raise awareness about chronic organ donation shortages and push his boundaries and the boundaries and perceptions of what organ transplant patients can achieve.
In this talk, James will recount his 2024 Greenland expedition and his upcoming solo, unsupported skiing attempt for the South Pole!
