Taking place over three Tuesdays in May, this course invites participants to slow down, observe, and respond creatively to the rich architectural and historical character of each site. Each session will be held in a different location, offering a fresh perspective and a new environment to draw from.
Working primarily with fine-line pens and sketchbooks, participants will be introduced to the principles of urban sketching, capturing place through line, detail, and personal expression. The course is suitable for both beginners and those with some drawing experience.
Each day begins with a group introduction from the artist, including an insight into her practice and approach to drawing, followed by a group drawing activity. Participants will then work independently, with Grainne offering one-to-one guidance, feedback, and practical techniques throughout the session.
Alongside developing drawing skills, participants will gain a deeper appreciation of the heritage and stories of each site, making this a rich and immersive creative experience.
