Looking for something to do on a Saturday afternoon in the ENDLESS SUMMER of 2026???

Why not join us for a leisurely SKATING TOUR of Ballona Creek Wetlands, Playa Del Rey Beach, Del Rey Lagoon, Toes Beach, Dockweiler State Beach, and MORE!!!

ITINERARY:

Meeting location and time:

Meeting time: 3:30 PM PST

Please meet at the Mustache Bridge (intersection of Ballona Creek Bike Path and Mustache Bridge) located at:

Some attendees may be running late, so we can wait 15-20 minutes for those that may be running late.

The members may chat, mingle, socialize, and get to know each other better.

Activities:

Ballona Creek Wetlands, Playa Del Rey Beach, Del Rey Lagoon, Toes Beach, Dockweiler State Beach, and MORE!!!

We set out on SKATES (Rollerblades or Rollerskates) from the meeting point at Mustache Bridge (intersection of Ballona Creek Bike Path and Mustache Bridge) and tour around the Ballona Creek Wetlands along the beach to begin the SKATING Tour.

Then we proceed on SKATES along the Ballona Creek Bike Path to begin the second activity.

Ballona Creek Wetlands to Playa Del Rey Beach:

We skate south on the Ballona Creek Bike Path towards Playa Del Rey Beach.

The group SKATES to Toes Beach. We transition from Ballona Creek Bike Path to South Marine Avenue.

We skate south along S. Marine Avenue to Playa Del Rey Beach and the Vista Del Mar Lifeguard Station. Finally, the group skates to Dockweiler State Beach.

We can stop anytime to rest and recover from the rigors of skating. There are two Public Restrooms with water and a wall to sit and rest.

The group may observe the activities along Toes Beach, Playa Del Rey Beach, and Dockweiler State Beach, absorb the magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean and coastal mountains, review activities along the beach (volleyball, yoga classes, sunbathers, bicyclers, etc.) and consider the architecture of the myriad buildings along Playa Del Rey Beach, socialize, mingle, and get to know each other better.

Then the group may rest at Dockweiler State Beach, have some water, snacks, and continue to mingle, chat, and socialize.

Then the SKATING group may proceed north towards Playa Del Rey Beach for the third activity.

Dockweiler State Beach to Del Rey Lagoon:

After the skate group tours along the Dockweiler State Beach south of Playa Del Rey Beach, we skate north back to the starting point at Ballona Creek Wetlands Mustache Bridge (intersection of Ballona Creek Bike Path and Mustache Bridge).

Along the way the group may decide to skate over to the Del Rey Lagoon to observe the flora and fauna of the Del Rey Lagoon.

The group may reflect on the Ballona Creek Wetlands, Toes Beach, Playa Del Rey Beach, Dockweiler State Beach, Del Rey Lagoon Skating Tour to discuss the natural beauty of the coastal areas; and, the group can discuss the next SKATING TOUR.

The Skate LA - Ballona Creek/Playa Del Rey Beach Edition tour will cover:

Ballona Creek Wetlands (Mustache Bridge)

Toes Beach

Playa Del Rey Beach

Dockweiler State Beach

Del Rey Lagoon

The group can observe the magnificent Pacific Ocean and stunning coastal views of the beach and the mountains ON SKATES!!!

Please bring enough water for approximately a 2 - 3 mile LEVEL SKATE along the Ballona Creek Bike Path/S. Marine Avenue and some snack items to consume during the skating event.

This skating event is not meant to exhaust the attendees; it is just a light, easy, level skate to enjoy the views of the Pacific Ocean, the views of the coast, the mountains, and review the architecture of the buildings along the coast, get some exercise, mingle, socialize, and get to know the other members.
