Silent Cemetery Stroll
About this Event
Silent walking is a great way to calm your nervous system and practice mindfulness, Doing it with others can help with feelings of loneliness and isolation, all without the pressure of having to talk!
What to expect:
- We’ll meet at the main entrance of Southern Cemetery on Barlow Moor Road
- A little welcome and we set off
- A slow pace around the cemetery, allowing you time to wander if you’d like to read the gravestones
- Silence. No conversation, no music, no phones. Just a mindful stroll in the company of others
Good to know:
- Some flowers will be available to leave on stones, but you’re encouraged to bring your own if you’d like!
- The surfaces are mostly flat but can be a bit uneven in places
- We’ll walk roughly 1.5-2 miles and loop back to the entrance
- Afterward, anyone who fancies it can head to the Tibetan Kitchen for lunch and chat, entirely optional
- Event will only be canceled if the weather poses a danger to life. Otherwise, dress accordingly!
