Sibshops: Workshops Supporting Children w/ Disabled Siblings ($40/session!)

Ellie Mental Health Wexford is excited to be bringing and facilitating Sibshops to the local McCandless, PA area for the cost of just $40 per workshop session (each program includes five total workshop sessions)!

What are Sibshops?

Sibshops are an opportunity for children (ages 8 to 13) who have siblings with serious or chronic health problems and/or developmental needs to gain peer support as well as education while having fun.

Why Sibshops?

There is a growing population in our area of children with special needs whose siblings will be in their life longer than anyone. If these siblings are provided with support and education early on, they will be able to acquire skills and support that will help them today and in the future.

Sibshops are semi-structured monthly groups. They last approximately 2 hours and provide opportunities to process the siblings' emotions and experiences while playing and making new friends. There will be games and food involved. This is strictly for the siblings, not the children with special needs. To learn more, visit https://siblingsupport.org/sibshops

Event Details:

Location: Ingomar Elementary School (602 W. Ingomar Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237)

Entire Program Cost: $200 for first child ($40/session); $150 for additional children ($30/session)

Terms and Conditions for Workshop Attendance

Welcome to our upcoming workshop! By purchasing a ticket, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Registration and Payment

1. All ticket sales are final upon purchase.

2. Registration is required to secure your spot in the workshop. Spots are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Workshop Participation

1. Participants are expected to arrive on time and engage respectfully with other attendees and facilitators.

2. Our team reserves the right to remove any participant who exhibits disruptive or inappropriate behavior without a refund.

Refund Policy

1. Refunds will only be considered under extenuating circumstances.

2. All refund requests must be submitted in writing to one of the Sibshops program managers within 14 days of the workshop date.

3. Extenuating circumstances will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and the decision of the program manager is final.

4. Refunds for individual missed sessions will also only be considered under extenuating circumstances. If deemed acceptable, the refund will be based on a prorated amount of the missed session relative to the total cost of the entire program.

5. Refunds, if approved, will be processed within 10 business days.

Cancellation Policy

1. In the unlikely event that the workshop is canceled by the organizers, participants will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer their ticket to a future event.

2. We are not responsible for any additional costs incurred by participants, such as travel or accommodation expenses.

Liability and Disclaimer

1. The organizers and facilitators are not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in the workshop.

2. Participants assume full responsibility for their actions and well-being during the event.

Privacy and Data Protection

1. Personal information provided during registration will be used solely for workshop-related communications.

2. We will not share your personal information with third parties without your consent.
