About this Event
In this dance workshop we will draw heavily on Odissi - one of the most elegant Classical dances of India. We will examine the principle of building movement from the footwork and have it ripple deeply through the body, affecting the hips, ribcage, shoulders as well as the head and eyes. We will focus on the beautiful shapes traditionally residing within Odissi, dig deep into their logic and fundamentals, which will allow you to apply these principles to your own dance and create dynamic fusion. The poses will be linked into short combinations, which will be put together into movement flow/mini choreography.
