Sharing Table - Allowing Grief
About this Event
What this is
An evening of food and shared inquiry.
- Around 12 people
- Five courses vegetarian dinner paired with guiding questions
- Phones away to protect attention
- The evening unfolds slowly (around 4–5 hours)
Theme - Allowing Grief
Grief lives in loss & endings, unmet expectations, changing identities, places that never received enough love, and the sorrows of the world.
What if grief is not something to overcome, but something to make room for?
Through five dishes inspired by Francis Weller's five gates of grief, guiding questions, shared presence, and optional rituals, we explore the many forms grief can take and the ways it shapes our lives.
You are welcome to speak, to listen, or simply to be present and enjoy food. Participate in the way that feels right for you.
About Sharing Table
Meaningful conversations often happen around a table. And yet, many of our conversations today can feel rushed and distracted. We crave depth and presence, but don’t always know how to create it.
Sharing Table creates a space where food becomes a medium for examining philosophical and psychological questions together.
Space & Practice
At the table, we are witnessed without advice.
Contradictions are allowed to exist without needing to be resolved. We are not here to fix each other, but to listen and respond with curiosity.
Each table begins with a theme. The questions and the food are shaped around it.
The structure is intentional and responsive. The pace adjusts. The depth is shaped by the people at the table.
