About this Event
Movement Journey is a holistic, improvisational dance and movement research class, with the aim of rediscovering ease in movement, exploring new ways of moving, and deepening your connection to your body, yourself, and others.
What happens in a class?
Each session begins with a brief introduction, followed by a slow, somatic arrival — a time to land into your body and cultivate awareness from within. From this place of connectedness, we transition into movement, exploring dance improvisation and self-expression.
Through playful exploration of space, time, energy, and other elements of dance, we engage with our bodies in fresh and surprising ways. At times, you may move solo; at others, you'll collaborate in pairs or groups, connecting not only with yourself but with others around you.
The structure of the class creates a sense of flow, a sense of being on a journey — an opportunity to meet yourself differently. Whether the movement is soft and slow or fast and dynamic, it’s an invitation to embrace where you are and join in a shared experience. We take time at the end to share about our experiences, allowing them to integrate more deeply from the bodily level.
Some words from participants:
- “I feel so released.”
- “I felt emotions coming up and moving through.”
- “I felt like a child again, who lost sense of time and space, and could just play.”
- “I completely forgot about the outside world.”
- “It was so nice to be able to forget how I look and just move.”
- “It was weirdly refreshing.”
The class draws inspiration from various embodied practices and methods from dance pedagogy and dance therapy: somatic approaches like Body-Mind Centering and Feldenkrais, dance improvisation, Contact Improvisation, and Authentic Movement are all informing the practice.
Who is it for?
These classes are for everyone who feels life could be more alive, full, and whole. If you’re curious about connecting with your body and yourself on a deeper level, the Movement Journey is for you.
Come as you are—no prior dance or movement experience required. Just bring comfy clothing and your water bottle.

About the facilitator
Eszter Kalóz (she/her) is a Berlin-based Holistic Dance-Movement Pedagogue and Yoga teacher dedicated to inspiring personal transformation through embodied practices.
Her work is based on somatic practices, dance pedagogical and dance therapeutic tools, as well as other holistic methods to help individuals reconnect with their bodies and discover a deeper sense of presence. Eszter believes in the transformative power of movement as a gateway to more embodied living—fostering self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a renewed connection to life.
She works with individuals from all walks of life, offering group classes, private sessions, and immersive workshop series.
Whether yoga or dance/movement, what she offers is influenced by an ongoing research into her own body, mind and spirit and therefore has a constantly evolving form. When she’s not teaching, she draws inspiration from nature, the arts, and her passion for exploring the many ways movement can heal and empower.
“Movement is not something we do nearly so much as what we are, and harbinger to what we can become.” — Sonja Fraleigh
