The Alban shakes up Twelfth Night, in a homage to the great (and campy) Sci-Fi of the 60s and 70s. Far into the future, on the distant planet Illyria, Viola is shipwrecked and disguises herself as an android, only to fall straight into a love triangle! This is Shakespeare's rollicking comedy of disguises, zany pranks, mistaken identity, and love - set in Space!
Synopsis:
Princess Viola and Prince Sebastian, twin heirs of the planet Messaline, are separated by a shipwreck in deep space, each believe the other is dead. To protect her identity, Viola disguises herself as the android Cz-R-e-0, to work for Duke Orsino of the planet Illyria. Orsino sends his android to woo the Countess Olivia, and she falls desperately in love with the disguised Viola! Meanwhile, Sebastian is rescued by the notorious space pirate, Antonio, who then find their way to Illyria, and the hijinks commence – as mistaken identities catch everyone in love triangles. While the nobles are romantically entangled, the servants are feverishly concocting plots to play pranks on the foppish steward, Malvolio.
