Preschool through 12th grade is not a single school, even if in the same building. It is five different stages, each doing a different job.
About this Event

Expectations change within families, while many parents are still using the framework from the previous stage.

This session walks parents through the five stages of school, what each stage is designed to accomplish, and what actually matters developmentally and academically at each level.

Parents will leave with a clearer understanding of:

  • What schools are trying to accomplish at each stage,
  • where families commonly misread what matters,
  • Why certain academic and behavioral challenges emerge when they do,
  • and how to better support children as expectations change over time.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This series is built for parents in active decision-making moments, including:

  • parents preparing to enroll a child in kindergarten,
  • parents considering a school change,
  • parents whose child is doing well at home but struggling at school,
  • parents trying to make sense of behavior reports, conferences, or evaluations,
  • and parents weighing public, charter, private, independent, or pedagogy-driven school options.
