Public, charter, private, independent, and pedagogy-driven schools all have a range of qualities, strengths, limitations, and trade-offs.
About this Event

The category itself does not tell parents what many assume it does. Neither does a tour, a ranking, a brochure, or a single recommendation from another family.

This session explores how parents actually evaluate schools, which signals tend to matter most, and how to think more clearly about school fit, school quality, and educational decision-making.

Parents will leave with a better understanding of:

  • Why school categories are less predictive than they first appear,
  • What visible signals like test scores, facilities, and reputation actually measure,
  • What constraints shape different types of schools?
  • and how to move beyond "Which school is best?" toward "Which school is most aligned with what my child needs right now?"

WHO THIS IS FOR

This series is built for parents in active decision-making moments, including:

  • parents preparing to enroll a child in kindergarten,
  • parents considering a school change,
  • parents whose child is doing well at home but struggling at school,
  • parents trying to make sense of behavior reports, conferences, or evaluations,
  • and parents weighing public, charter, private, independent, or pedagogy-driven school options.

The goal is not to overwhelm parents with jargon or trends. The goal is to provide practical clarity so families can feel more informed, more grounded, and better prepared to navigate their child's educational journey.

Families may attend any individual session or attend all three sessions.
