Teachers see children in environments that many families never fully see: academic demands, routines, transitions, and group dynamics.
About this Event

Over time, schools begin to read patterns in how students function inside that environment. Most parents are never told clearly what those patterns are.

This session explores what schools are actually observing, how those patterns develop, and how parents can better understand the gap between home success and school success.

Parents will leave with a clearer understanding of:

  • the five categories schools tend to read, whether they formally name them or not,
  • why loving, attentive parenting can still produce school-skill mismatches,
  • the difference between parenting for the person and preparing a child to function within larger systems,
  • and three practical adjustments families can begin making immediately without sacrificing warmth, connection, or what matters most at home.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This series is built for parents in active decision-making moments, including:

  • parents preparing to enroll a child in kindergarten,
  • parents considering a school change,
  • parents whose child is doing well at home but struggling at school,
  • parents trying to make sense of behavior reports, conferences, or evaluations,
  • and parents weighing public, charter, private, independent, or pedagogy-driven school options.
