A method to verify your honey’s quality is to enter it in a honey contest. They’re held often at regional and state meetings. The Kalamazoo Bee Club will have a honey contest (and lots of other honey information) at the September meeting on September 10.
Confused about how to label your honey jars? The second half of the meeting will explain why labeling honey the right way is important- especially if you hope to sell it. And in some cases, it involves more than just putting a label with the word honey on it – on your jars. When you learn how to label honey correctly, you are putting more value on the hard work done by the bees and you, the beekeeper.
