Self-Care Sunday Solstice Sound Bath

The Summer Solstice is one of those moments — the longest day of the year, the fullest light, the sun at its peak. Since ancient times, it has been honored as a threshold of renewal, vitality, reflection, and return. A reminder to slow down long enough to reconnect with yourself.

Self-Care Sunday Solstice Sound Bath is a special collaborative experience featuring 𝐃𝐫. 𝐆𝐢𝐠𝐢 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫, 𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐃 of Singing Bowls of the Rockies alongside local healer, sound practitioner, and musician 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 “𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭” Robinson of The Inner Light Center of Colorado Springs.

Dr. Gigi Turner, PsyD — founder of Singing Bowls of the Rockies and former psychology professor — is known for creating immersive sound bath experiences that support nervous system regulation, emotional restoration, and deep relaxation through crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, gong, chimes, and layered healing instrumentation.

Joining her is John “ThunderHeart” Robinson, who has spent decades guiding others through meditation, energy healing, drumming ceremonies, Reiki, shamanic practices, and sound healing throughout Colorado. His grounding musical style incorporates Native American flute, djembe drum, didgeridoo, and other resonant instruments that create an earthy and deeply meditative atmosphere.

Complimentary 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐨 will also be offered during the evening, adding an additional layer of warmth, reflection, and heart-centered presence to the experience.

Together, Gigi and John create an immersive environment where sound becomes something felt as much as heard — vibrations moving through the body like water, like light, like memory returning home.

This experience is especially supportive for those feeling emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, burned out, overstimulated, or simply in need of deep rest and reconnection during this seasonal transition.

A sound bath is a meditative experience where people are "bathed" in sound waves produced by various overtone-emitting instruments, including singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and more. During a sound bath, people lie down and listen to resonant sounds, allowing their brain waves to slow and shift from a more active state to a more relaxed or dreamlike state. The goal of the experience is to invite deep rest and relaxation, explore self-inquiry and self-discovery, and help people let go of stress, anxiety, or other worries. A sound bath is typically a way of managing anxiety, soothing the nervous system, and blocking all the ideas and thoughts out of your consciousness as you connect with your body.

Our sound baths may include the following instruments: over 70 Crystal Singing Bowls & Tibetan Singing Bowls (including 5 sets of Chakra Tuned Singing Bowls), Crystal Quartzophone Harp, Zaphir Chimes, Bar Chimes, Flutes, Rain Stick, Buffalo Drum, Ocean Drum, Steel Tongue Drum, Handpans, Kalimba, Tingshas and other traditional instruments from around the world.

Please bring either a yoga mat or a floor cushion, along with a blanket and pillow—anything you need to feel comfortable during the experience. Come dressed comfortably, bring water, and eat beforehand.

If you have any serious medical condition (i.e. metal in the body/brain injury, tinnitus, epilepsy, metal in the body, etc...) make sure you get written permission from your doctor allowing your attendance of a live sound bath. The reason being that some conditions do not take well to the strong vibrations of sound baths. Additionally, please inform Gigi of your condition before joining us at our sound bath, thank you!
