About this Event

The Training Day will feature 3 guest speakers Rod Densmore, Rod DeVries, and Julie Nanson-Ashton. Event will be in the Carriage House at the Medicine Hat Stampede grounds.

Q: Why do we want to understand how prenatal alcohol exposure affects the whole body?

A: This knowledge leads to effective strategies to assist function and reduce misunderstanding and stigmatization

Today’s goals:

1) patients with FASD can feel better about themselves,

2) care providers can have a few more tools available to understand and help address physical and health and mental challenges that people with FASD face. We will discuss health issues encountered by patients with FASD (of course using non-identifying details to preserve patient confidentiality.)

Disclaimer:

All presenters, Dr. Rod Densmore, Rod DeVries and Julie Nanson-Ashton, strive to present updated and excellent information but specific educational, legal and medical advice can only come from professionals that understand details of the current situation, the client’s/patient’s history, testing results and examination.

Dr. Densmore encourages attendees to discuss content of these workshops with their health care providers and to ask any questions via email: [email protected] Workshop information, however, is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you understood from these workshops. If you think you may have a mental health or medical emergency, call your doctor, go to the nearest emergency department, or call 911 immediately.
