Screenwriting with Paul Zeidman
About this Event
Spend a full day immersed in the craft and business of screenwriting with Paul Zeidman, award‑winning screenwriter and podcaster, hosted by The Redding Writers Forum.
The first half of the day focuses on the ins and outs of the screenwriting industry. Paul will share insights from his own career, discuss how writers navigate the professional landscape, and break down what makes a script stand out. This session is ideal for writers who want a clearer understanding of how the industry works and how to position their own projects for success.
At midday, we’ll break for lunch. The venue sits in the heart of downtown Redding, just steps from the Public Market. You’ll have easy access to multiple dining options, art galleries, boutiques, and local shops — perfect for grabbing a meal or stretching your legs before the workshop portion begins.
After lunch, we’ll transition into a hands‑on screenwriting workshop. Participants will join small critique groups to read, discuss, and strengthen each other’s work. To take part in the critique session, writers are encouraged to bring 10 copies of a one‑page sample of their writing. This collaborative environment offers practical feedback, peer support, and a chance to apply the concepts covered earlier in the day.
Whether you’re new to screenwriting or refining your next project, this event provides a full, craft‑focused experience designed to help you grow as a writer.
