About this Event

Welcome to Science Adventures at Newcastle University!

Science Adventures is a free event for families during the school holidays. Join us for a day filled with fun activities and demonstrations about Psychology and Science. You can also participate in a variety of different research projects that are currently being run at the University! At the event, each child will receive an activity booklet, giftbag, refreshments, and lots of stickers! There are also lots of refreshments for the adults too!

To attend the event, please register for time that suits you. We are running sessions at: 9:30am, 10:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:30pm. These sessions are scheduled to be 2.5 hours each. You will need to register 1 ticket per child (tickets do not need to be secured for the adults also attending). Once you have registered for your ticket(s), we will contact you with further information.

Once you have registered, the Science Adventures team will be in contact and provide you with information about the different studies that your child can participate in. Following this, it will take you to the consent form that are required to participate in the studies.

All participation is voluntary, and you can select the studies you wish your child to participate in. If you do not wish to participate in any of the research, please still come along to enjoy the Psychology and Science activities. If you are unsure about the day and what it is like to be part of studies, please do not hesitate to contact us, and we will be glad to talk you through the events.

Science Adventures sessions are run by researchers in developmental psychology who are building a new initiative to improve the accessibility of science to families in Newcastle through direct outreach, and build partnerships between the local community and the School of Psychology
