Scam self-defence at Launceston Library
About this Event
Anyone can get caught out by a scam - it's got nothing to do with being smart or careful. Scammers are just really good at picking the wrong moment. In this friendly, no-question-too-silly session, Kevin O'Flaherty (who wrote The Scam Self-Defence Handbook) shows you the tricks scammers are using right now, and easy habits that make you a much harder target. Come along even if you've never felt confident with computers or phones - that's exactly who this is for.
About the presenter
Kevin O'Flaherty spent nearly 30 years working in tech, including running Microsoft's Tasmanian operations. These days he helps everyday Tasmanians feel less confused and less worried about technology - no jargon, no judgement. He wrote The Scam Self-Defence Handbook to help people spot scams early, and his goal is simple: take the fear out of tech, one everyday habit at a time.
