Join us for a diverse and revolutionary celebration of women in roots music with the Say Sister! Festival. This transformative event celebrates the vital contributions of women to a space where their presence has always been essential, though often underappreciated, shining a spotlight on the past, present, and future contributions of women in Old Time Music.Workshops include:
🎸arranging a song on guitar
🎸flatpicking fiddle tunes
🎸learn your first Django tune, “Minor Swing”
🎸Piedmont fingerpicking basics
🎸masterclass in thinking outside the box on guitar
Plus a free open jam led by Letitia VanSant for singers and instrumentalists who want to play well with others.
Then the concert at 7:30 PM brings it home with a lineup featuring Yasmin Williams, Valerie Turner (with Ben Turner), Lisa Liu, Marcy Marxer, and Cathy Fink.
