This workshop features a pair of visiting instructors giving you tips on how to make your scene partner look good.
About this Event

This high-energy improv workshop is all about getting out of your own way and making your scene partner look good. From word games, movement, mirroring, and character work, participants learn how to support offers, share focus, heighten emotions, and know when to step up or step back. The result? Stronger scenes, deeper connections, and the confidence that comes from knowing you’ve got your partner’s back.

About the instructors:
Latanya (Tanya) Morgan is a Philadelphia based actor, writer, director, certified trauma informed teaching artist, improv performer, acting and improv coach, applied improv corporate trainer and owner/operator of Sawubona Creativity Project(https://sawubonacreativityproject.org/). Tanya has been acting on stage, in films and commercials for over 20 years. She spent time as a writer and performer on one of the most popular Philly sketch teams, The Rhubarbs. Tanya performs improv comedy monthly with indie improv teams: Daddy Issues, The NCrowd, NYTEShift, No Diggity and Not Yet Rated. In March 2023, Tanya opened Sawubona Creativity Project, a community theatre space that offers monthly improv jams, family friendly workshops, shows, and events; as well as classes in improv, acting, playwriting and storytelling for kids, teens and adults.

Keane Cobb is an actor, improviser, standup comedian and writer from Philadelphia. Keane has been writing and performing his own brand of comedy since 2008 and has hosted the Funny Bone in Albany and the Helium Comedy Club and Punchline Comedy Club in Philadelphia. He is also a member of the all POC comedy troupe NYTEShift, the comedic trio known as Black History Monthly, a company member of ComedySportz Philadelphia, as well as a co-host of the podcast Alt-Black. He has performed in a number of comedy festivals including the Pittsburgh Comedy Festival, Hell Yes Fest in New Orleans, New York Sketch Fest, NYC Improv Fest, Cinderblock Comedy Festival in Brooklyn, Diverse AF Festival in New York, We The People Improv Festival, Philly Sketch Fest, Philadelphia Podcast Festival, and Fringe Festival.

The Highwire Center is Highwire Improv's home base in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore! Part of Highlandtown Main Street and the Highlandtown Arts District, The Highwire Center is home to classes, free workshops, shows, community events, corporate training, and more! The Highwire Center is accessible, with ramp access available, an ADA restroom, and flat transit throughout the space.
