Saturday Wellbeing Rides - Leeds Rd to Mirfield

Our Saturday wellbeing rides will be on a mix of on-road sections and traffic-free riding along towpaths and greenways.

We park at Leeds Rd Sports Complex in Huddersfield and ride out along the newly tarmacced towpath, up onto the greenway, then head towards Mirfield, or the Spen Valley Greenway if we are feeling energetic.

No bike ride is complete without a coffee and a chat, so there is always a cafe stop on each ride.

You need to be confident cycling on back roads in some traffic, but these sections will be managed by the qualified ride leaders/cycle instructors. These routes are mainly on towpaths and greenways but with some on-road sections. They also have some short uphill sections, so you will need to be able to use your gears effectively.

Your qualified ride leader is Kate, who will manage the traffic when we do the short stints on-road. Bring a bike lock and money for a cafe stop.
