Join us for our latest comedy special at the fabulous Guiseley Theatre, as we welcome two fantastic comedians.Ria Lina is a Filipina comedian, actress and writer. TV and Radio includes Celebrity Bridge of Lies, QI, Live At The Apollo, Have I Got News For You, Pointless, Evil Genius with Russel Kane, The News Quiz, Breaking The News, The Bugle Podcast, Worlds Most Dangerous Roads, Brain Reaction, The Unbelievable Truth, The Now Show, Celebrity Mastermind, The Infinite Monkey Cage and Mock The Week. Ria was named as one of The Evening Standard’s ‘Hottest Comedians You Should Be Watching Now’.
Ria is the only Filipina comedian in British stand up and has a BSc in Experimental Pathology, an MSc in Forensic Science and a PhD in Virology under her belt, so it’s not only Ria’s comedy that’s highly intelligent. A regular pundit on Sky News, BBC News, Times Radio and TalkRadio, Ria is in demand for her scientific insight, confident delivery and biting wit. She recently released her own series for BBC R4, ‘Ria Gets Forensic’ which investigated anti-ageing treatments, scrutinising the lengths people will go to cheat age and stay young.
Throughout her stand-up career Ria has taken five shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with her work tackling topics such as autism, topical news and racial identity. Her career stretches from stage and screen, to radio and the occasional ukulele – all in a unique style described by ‘The Scotsman’ as ‘fearless, provocative and very funny’.
Jack Carroll is a 23 Year Old Comedian, Actor and Writer. He starred in CBBC sketch show Vic Reeves ‘Ministry of Curious Stuff’ aged 11, won a Pride of Britain award at 12, was runner-up on Britain’s Got Talent aged 14 and was nominated for a National Soap Award aged 15 for his appearance in Doctors. What he did when he was 13 remains a mystery. Since then, he’s made appearances on Live at the Apollo, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order, Would I Lie To You, QI and many other shows. He's also acted in the world's longest-running TV soap opera Coronation Street, 4 series of Sky 1 Sitcom Trollied and starred in feature film Eaten By Lions.
Our show is hosted by our regular MC Graeme Rayner.
Please note: we have two shows running on this evening - Ria is opening the show in Guiseley and then heading to Huddersfield to close the show there, while Jack is opening the show in Huddersfield and then heading to Guiseley.
