SACRED IN THE COMMUNITY | THANKSGIVING DAY
About this Event
While connecting with the Orange County Rescue Mission about another opportunity, they reached out to Sacred Community to see if we'd be interested in serving the people and families staying at the Tustin Temporary Emergency Shelter on Thanksgiving Day.
We'd love to say yes.
We were asked to pick up Thanksgiving food from the OC Rescue Mission, bringing it over to the shelter, decorating the space, serving a meal to our neighbors, spending time together, and helping clean up afterward.
We'll be serving up to 100 people, and we'll need a handful of willing hands, including a few people with SUVs or trucks who can help transport the food. The drive between the Mission and the shelter is only about 10 minutes.
Thursday, November 26 | 10:30 AM–2:00 PM | Tustin
We're partnering with the Orange County Rescue Mission to make this happen..
We believe community is built when we show up for one another. We'd love to spend part of our Thanksgiving doing that with you.
Please Note Regarding Children: Children are welcome to participate in serving alongside their families. However, we ask that parents use their own discretion when deciding whether to bring their children. The Tustin Temporary Emergency Shelter is a sober-living environment, but the shelter cannot guarantee that every resident will be fully sober at the time of our visit or that every interaction will be appropriate for children. Parents are responsible for supervising their children throughout the event and should make the decision that is best for their family.
