Rug Tufting Workshop at Manchester Craft and Design Centre

Join rugmaker Alena Ruth for a Rug Tufting workshop during Manchester Village Pride and create your own one-of-a-kind rug.
About this Event

In this hands on workshop, you will learn how to use professional tufting guns and essential rug-making tools, as you create your own 30x30cm rug with a simple design of up to four different colours. The workshop is beginner friendly, and you will be guided step-by-step through the tufting and shaving processes to create your rug.

Rugs will be glued and finished off in Alena Ruth’s studio and will be ready for collection at a later date.

Rug designs need to be sent 48 hours before workshop.

Your ticket includes:

• All tools, equipment and materials
• A 30x30cm rug with your own design
• Gluing and finishing of your rug by Alena Ruth
• Expert guidance into the process of rug tufting

This workshop will take place in Space2, located on the ground floor of Manchester Craft and Design Centre.

Suitable for ages 16+. Those under 18 should be accompanied by an adult.
