The Rites of Passage series offers the opportunity to honour some of the major transitions of the Circle of Life through the healing art of craniosacral biodynamics and through individual and group ceremony.
Rites of passage have been used throughout history and across cultures to mark and celebrate transitions and the maturational process of individuals at different stages of their lives. These processes involve an experience of separating from what was, stepping into the unknown of a transition, and then arriving at a new incorporation of energy and development that empowers the next stage of life.
This 3 day post graduate course offers an experiential exploration of the birth journey, that most formative of passages in terms of physical and psycho-emotional imprinting.Table sessions will include immersion in the Long Tide, an orientation to birthing forces, patterns and processes, the dance of creative opposition and the Ignition of potency at the navel centre as an empowerment to be in the world. Opportunities for personal ceremony, a forest medicine walk and a Fire ceremony to honour our lineages are woven through through the days, allowing participants the space to address their personal history and arising process with the support of the environment, alongside the refinement of craniosacral skills to support clients in addressing this most formative of creative processes.
Over three full days together we’ll look at the process of birth in the context of the biodynamic paradigm, maintaining a sense of ground and orientation, safety & the heart centerd relational field. Each day will include time in circle around the fire, guided meditative and perceptual processes, lectures and presentations in the outdoor classroom, free time to walk or rest in the forest and table work in the Nest. A vegetarian lunch is included in the course fee, sourced from local, organically grown produce and prepared for us with care. Vegan and gluten free options can be accommodated. Teas and snacks will also be available.
This non-residential course is an opportunity to explore in-depth the Rite of Passage of Birth, the co-creation of a movement from Womb to World. We’ll look at the process from the baby’s point of view, according to the Sills/Emerson tradition. We will explore both vaginal and Caesarian birth, including insights into the potential impact of drugs and other medical interventions. Using ancient shamanic methods such as the Flowering Tree Ceremony and the Medicine Walk, we’ll gather information and create a container for the transformation and healing of our unique personal birth history. We’ll join together for a Fire Ceremony to honour the Ancestors. Table work will include an exploration of Birth imprints and patterns, the resolution of Birth trauma and the augmentation of Birth Ignition. In addition to personal process work, this course will benefit those who wish to refine their practice, recognising and orienting more consciously to birthing forces, patterns and processes in the people they work with. It will also provide some nourishing time out in a beautiful natural setting.
Please note that this seminar is non-residential. Camping or B&B accommodation is available nearby. Places are strictly limited to a maximum of 8 participants.
