Richard Causton Nocturne for 21 Pianos
About this Event
Witness the extraordinary sight and sound of twenty-one pianos playing together in this late night concert in the magical setting of King’s College Chapel.
This event is proudly sponsored by Millers Music.
Commissioned to celebrate Frederic Chopin’s bicentenary and first performed in 2010, Richard Causton’s Nocturne for 21 Pianos weaves together fragments from all twenty-one of Chopin’s piano Nocturnes in an entrancing hour-long tapestry of sound.
This very special performance, given by Cambridge University students and local school children in association with King’s College Music Society is not to be missed.
“…eerie, ethereal and enchanting” - Richard Morrison, The Times
This event is part of Piano Equals, a scheme to distribute pianos to local schools and organisations. All the pianos involved in the performance will be donated following the concert. Find out more about Piano Equals using the link below.
